Born on December 10th 1972, Dr. Jemille Smith originally hails from Cleveland Ohio.
Jemille completed his undergraduate studies at Longwood University graduating Summa Cum Laude from Longwood’s Honors Program with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry. After working a few years in nutritional chemistry research, he subsequently matriculated to Prior to Eastern Virginia Medical School to pursue an MD degree. Next, he received his residency training at the Carilion Family Medicine Residency in Roanoke, VA where he focused on Preventative and Community Medicine. Afterward, he went to teach at the ECPI College of Health Sciences in Richmond, VA where he was a faculty member in the nursing department teaching advanced clinical studies.
For the last 6 years, Dr. Jemille Smith has worked as a Rehabilitation Physician at multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities across greater upstate New York. He is as well the medical director at 2 facilities including our practice.
Jemille is married and the father of 8 wonderful children. He is an avid sports enthusiast of all Cleveland sports teams and as well enjoys playing basketball and football. He is a fervent reader of mystery novels with Patricia Cornwell being his favorite author. Lastly, he spends a fair amount of time writing where he is working on a book of psychiatry and devotes a significant effort in improving the health of his community and the world at large.
